Mt. Vernon

Today, we visited Mt. Vernon  - the home of George Washington.  When we left our house today, it was sunny and warm, but just as we paid for our admission and walked through the gates of the Mt. Vernon estate, a storm came out of nowhere.  It was windy and cold and looked like it was going to pour.  We decided to just go ahead and explore the grounds, despite the weather. We were glad we did, because it was really beautiful and it was pretty amazing to see the house where Washington lived and died.  We also saw his actual black leather chair that he used during his term as president.  The estate is on a piece of gorgeous property overlooking the Potomac river and countryside.
